About University

Semey State University named after Shakarim qualitatively differs from all the universities of Semey region, because of being multidisciplinary classical European university. It was found on the basis of animal health, technological and financial institutions in 1995, SSU managed to preserve and increase the traditions of higher education, becoming a cultural, educational, methodological and scientific center of the North-Eastern region of Kazakhstan.

History

Shakarim Semipalatinsk State University is the legal successor of the Semipalatinsk State University Semei, which was created through the unification of the three high schools (teachers, animal health and production) by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan of 13.11.1995, and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 304 from 01.02. 1995. Today the University is one of the largest multidisciplinary universities of Kazakhstan. Shakarim Semipalatinsk State University is in the 10th position in the rank of all multidisciplinary universities of Kazakhstan according to the results of educational activities evaluation conducted by the National Accreditation Centre of the Ministry of Education and Science in 2008. The university has a state license 000004 and has successfully passed the State Certification.
