About University
With approximately 40.000 students and 600 teachers and with many administrative staffs, the university of Douala, more than over 10 years after university reforms presents herself undoubtedly as one of the largest with her 11 functional institutions of learning and also as a leaders in Professionalism in Cameroon with her 72 Vocational Trainings.
History
The University of Douala has six other sisters Unversities of the state of Cameroon was created and organised by Presidential Degree No. 93/030 of 19 January 1993.
It inherits the structure of University centre and composed of school of Commercial and Economic Sciences (ESSEC 1977) and the Higher School of Technical Education (ENSET 1979) founded in April 23 1977 and transformed into a university on 13 April 1992 following the Degree No 92/74 on the transformation of academic centres into universities
Research
At the University the Research is based on Socio-Economic realities of Africa and the world while maintaining its scientific characters. The emphasis is on reach projects in multidisciplinary terms to propose solutions to problems of development and consistency with the guidelines set by the university
International projects
The first session of the Board of Research and Publication sat in July 7, 2000 under the Chairmanship of the Rector and chose fourteen (14) Research Programs and restructured them on February 9, 2005 in which thirty (30) projects were approved by the university. Below are the 14 programs
