About University

Foreign Trade University, or FTU, is a university established in 1960, located in Hanoi,Vietnam. FTU is among the most well-known universities in Vietnam, covering a wide range of business courses among which are finance,management, and marketing. The annual admissions test to the university is one of the most competitive in Vietnam. Students from FTU are recognised as being active and well-qualified.

History

1967 – 1984: Foreign Trade University

1984-1999: Expanding training activities and improving training quality

1999 to now: Being improved continuously and integrated internationally.

Research

Research activities are always encouraged and supported by the FTU. Annual research plans are used as the basis for the calls for, the appraisals of, and the selection of, research proposals, which are financed from a variety of sources.

It has both undergraduate and graduate programs for foreign students. These courses are taught in Vietnamese, English, and French. FTU has academic partnership

In the fall semester 2012 the FTU welcomed undergraduate exchange students from the US, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Japan and South Korea who stayed mostly for one semester but in parts also for two. Besides student exchanges as a part of an academic partnership, the FTU also allows self-organized exchange semesters (commonly known as “Free Mover” semesters).

History

The history of technical education in this country has been a century old. It all began in 1904 when a Technical School began its operation on Weld Road (now Jalan Raja Chulan) to teach Technical Assistants for the Federated Malay States Departments of Railways, Survey and Public Works. The school was officially known as Treacher Technical School, named after Sir William Treacher, the Resident General during that time. Students followed classed on part-time basis; they worked and trained specifically according to the technical needs of their employment.

Research

The Ministry of Education formed an Ad Hoc committee, comprising research from Malaysian universities, to formulate a concept paper on the establishment of research universities (RUs). The content of the paper deals with their vision, missions and goals, the criteria and standard for Rus, their governance, prevision of incentives, accreditation concerns, cost implications and a viable action plan. The vision of an RU expands existing philosophies and good practices to enhance overall educations system and contribute to nation building.

About University

At the initiative of the Catholic Hierarchy of Korea, Pope Pius XII gave assurance that a Catholic institution of higher learning would have been founded in Korea. Later he entrusted the task to the Society of Jesus (September 1948). Fr. Theodor Geppert, S.J. from Sophia University in Tokyo came to Korea and started searching for a suitable site to establish a Jesuit college in October 1954. Fr. Leo Burns, S.J., Superior of the Wisconsin Province came to Korea and, with the Catholic Hierarchy, began negotiations with the government for the foundation of the college in February 1955. In January 1957 the Society of Jesus purchased a property of 67,075 pyong (217,323 sq. meters, 53 acres) at Nogo San, Sinsu-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Work began to prepare the site for the Administration Building. The Administration Building was completed in November 1959.

World University of Bangladesh (WUB) is a private university located at Dhaka, Bangladesh.

History

The university was established in 1998 under the Private University Act, 1992. It has five campuses. The main campus situated at 3/A, Road # 4, Dhanmondi, Dhaka 1205, Bangladesh. Other campuses are located at Dhanmondi.

The recent public perception is negative. This university has been established to make money not to provide education in terms of quality. This perception also applies to other private universities as well some old public universities in the country.

The Catholic University of Cameroon (CATUC), or in Latin (Universitas Catholica Cameruniae) is a private university located in Bamenda in the North West region of the Republic of Cameroon. It is the Provincial University of the Catholic Church in the Anglophone part of Cameroon and the only Catholic Institution of Higher Education founded by the Anglophone Catholic Bishops.

History

The Catholic University of Cameroon, Bamenda  was founded by the Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda as a national institution of learning. Given its origins and its historic role, this university has a responsibility to the Church in Cameroon. It is called to be an intellectual centre of highest quality, where the relation between revealed truth and human truth can be examined in depth and with authority against the background of the Cameroon education experience.

Samara State University of Economics is the largest one in the Volga region. Its main target is complex training of competitive specialists able to facilitate the process of Russia joining the world community. Institute of Economic Planning was founded in Samara in September 1931. In the process of country’s industrialization and agriculture collectivization it was necessary to train economists in the sphere of industrial and agricultural planning and national economy as a whole.

1935 First graduates of Kuybyshev Institute of Economic Planning.

1950s Transformation of Institute into a multi-profile HEI with great variety of faculties.

1962 Post-graduate courses are established.

1968 Dissertation board is established.

1977 Centre of Information Technology is established.

1991 HEI is renamed into Samara Institute of Economics.

1993 Business lawyers, managers, marketers training is started. Doctorate course is established.

1994 Bachelors training is started. Doctor dissertation Board is established. HEI acquires a new status. Institute is renamed into Samara State Academy of Economics.

1996 Subsidiary in Togliatti is established.

1998 Academy gets access to World Wide Web (Internet).

1999 Masters training is started. Foreign Languages Learning Centre is founded.

2000 Subsidiary in Syzran is established.

2001 Subsidiary in Shentala is established. International Centre is founded.

2002 Volga Region Centre for Retraining military personnel is established within Russian-British program. Representative office in Bezenchuk is established.

2005 Samara State Academy of Economics is renamed Samara State University of Economics.

University of Rajasthan is the centre of tertiary education in Rajasthan and attracts students from other parts of India and overseas. The central campus is in the city of Jaipur. The University of Rajasthan has 6 constituent colleges, 11 recognised research centres, 37 postgraduate departments and 305 affiliated colleges. History

The University of Rajasthan is the oldest institution of higher learning in Rajasthan. It was established on 8 January 1947, as the University of Rajputana with the main objective of disseminating knowledge and catering to the needs of the students of Rajasthan. It had jurisdiction over the entire state. In the year 1956, the Rajputana University was renamed as the University of Rajasthan, keeping intact its enveloping jurisdiction. With the successive creation of other universities, its affiliating jurisdiction has come down to only seven districts of Rajasthan, but it is still the hub of higher education in Rajasthan paving the way for the other universities.

History

According to the license (Series AB № 529 686 from 26.08.2010) the  Institute provides higher education in the spheres and specialties of educational-qualification levels “Bachelor”, “Specialist”,  “Master: “Finance and credit”, ”Finance”, “Banking Business”, “Accounting and Auditing”, “Economic Cybernetics” and “HR Management and Labor Economics”, and retrains specialists on “Banking Business” and “Finance”. It provides continuing educational of state officers and executives of state enterprises, institutions and organizations in the area of “public administration” (1501), continuing education of professionals of financial and credit institutions as well as training of citizens of Ukraine for entering higher educational establishments. In general, scientific and pedagogical staff of 11 departments of the Institute – 5 of which are entitles to grant diplomas, that is,  Banking Business, Accounting and Auditing, Economic Cybernetics, Finance, Economics and HR Management –  train licensed professionals. The Institute has been conducting over 20 practical and research projects over the past three years, and it has research laboratory of economic and mathematical modeling of financial markets and marketing laboratory.

History of Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov

In 1930 by RSFSR SP council’s decision the first  institute in Kazakhstan was founded. The first rector was S.D.Asfendiyarov, a graduating-student of Leningrad Military Medical Academy.

For great services and people’s public health  development the medical institute was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of  Labour in April of 1981.

In 2001 Kazakh State medical university named after S.D.Asfendiyarov was awarded the high national status of the university.

International projects

Realization of Student exchange program is being implemented in frame of University’s cooperation with Kazakhstan and international partner-Universities. More than 50 students visited Ukraine, Japan, Italy, Turkey, China,  Uzbekistan pursuing academic goals.

Starting from June to December, 2011 around 94 specialists from foreign countries conducted workshops using the program “Foreign specialists’ invitation” (USA, Israel, Turkey, China, Hungary, South Korea, Germany, Russia, Belorussia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Italy, Jordan, France, Singapore).

Practitioners and teachers of medical Universities are invited to participate in master-classes free of charge.

Annually in the first days of December the University holds international scientific and practical conference “University Days” which includes lections from scientists with a world name, faculty conferences, student events (debates, trainings, competitions and etc.)
