History

Istanbul University was established in 1453 by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II.However,Richard Honig, a German law historian, who claims that Byzantine and Ottoman traditions could be analyzed together, expressed that the history of Istanbul University can be traced back to March 1, 1321.The university, which was first established in today’s main building, was equivalent to Roman universities consisting of schools of medicine, law, philosophy and letters, and is considered to be the pioneer of university education in Istanbul. Classes officially began on 1 November 1933.

The Istanbul University provides all the necessary opportunities to help students in their courses and scientific research.The Istanbul University Department of Scientific Research Projects and Department of Health, Culture and Sports to this end provides yearly support to students and academicians for them to attend various scientific meetings, seminars, conferences and cultural activities in the country and abroad.

Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razzakov

About University

From the very beginning KSTU named after I. Razzakov plays a leading role in forming the common scientific technological and educational space of Kyrgyzstan. In the strategy, policy and plans developing on providing innovation economics, creating favorable environment for transmission of knowledge and technologies. During this period it has given a professional start for almost 100 thousand engineers, underwent a number of transformations and has become the largest educational and scientific complex and has had a leading position among the Universities of Kyrgyz Republic.

KSTU named after I.Razzakov is a center of science, education and culture integration. It conducts fundamental and applied researches in all priority areas of science in Kyrgyzstan, trains personnel for scientific and technological activities in a wide range of fields and specialties.

History

Frunze Polytechnical Institute (now KSTU) was founded in September 1954. That time there were 350 first-and the se- cond-years students, who were trained by thirty lecturers, four of them were candidates of sciences.

The first Rector was Professor Georgyi Akimovich Suhomlinov. A success deve- lopment of Frunze Polytechnic Institute (FPI) is associated with the name of this true follower of engineering education and science, endowed with great human qualities. Being a talented leader and a perfect organizer he was the head of the Institute for more than twenty years. At that period he managed to involve scien- tific technical elite of Kyrgyzstan into Insti- tute activity.

1957-1958 – first forty six certified engineers were graduated from FPI, the first collected scientific institute teachers papers were published.
1962 – a new building of the Insti- tute was presented. Even nowadays it decorates one of the main roads of our capital.
1992 – Institute got an official status of the University.
1995 – the University was given the name of Iskhak Razzakov. He was the initiator of establishing a higher edu- cational establishments in Soviet Kirgizia.
Iskhak Razzakov was an outstan- ding politician, a great son of Kyrgyz nation.

During a long time Frunze Polytechnic Institute was one of the leading technical Universities in the USSR.

History

Research

ISBL publishes two periodical journals of peer reviewed research papers: “Verslo ir teisės aktualijos / Current Issues of Business and Law”“Issues of Business and Law”.

ISLB is conducting a number of international and national projects.

From the very beginning of studies the students are involved in scientific activities. ISLB organizes an annual conference Business from the Students Perspective. This event provides a platform for students and young scientists to present their research papers and hold discussions. A special publication offering conference proceedings and a compilation of student research papers is published.

ISLB`s students participate in an annual entrepreneurship contest PROFAS organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, leading business enterprises and a public institution Profat. The competition gives students an opportunity to generate business ideas and consult business professionals. ISLB`s students won the second place in the contest in 2008 and the first prize in 2009.

In 2007 ISLB established the Scientific Students Union, an organization that unites students and young scientists conducting R&D in the field of law, organizes conferences and advises students on research paper writing.

International projects

ISLB actively participates in international educational and project based programmes. The main priorities are integration into the European educational processes, the mobility of students, lecturers and administrative staff, implementation of international projects and participation in the activities of foreign higher education institutions.

ISLB has signed over 80 Bilateral Agreements with partner institutions in the frames of LLP/Erasmus programme and Nordplus Framework Programme as well as Master studies in Europe and South Korea.

ISLB`s lecturers are regularly invited for teaching visits by foreign higher education institutions. Thanks to a wide international cooperation, every year ISLB receives a number of visiting foreign lecturers and professors. ISLB is actively implementing student exchange projects via LLP/Erasmus programme. International full-time students may also use this unique opportunity and participate in Erasmus.

ISLB has signed an agreement on academic cooperation with the University of Wolverhampton, which will allow ISLB students to obtain one of the University’s degrees and ISLB’s Diploma. Joint study programmes and double diplomas are among key priorities of ISLB development.

ISLB offers an opportunity for its students to obtain a EuroBusiness Diploma and a EuroTourism Diploma with a European quality label offered by SPACE international association. A EuroBusiness Diploma provides a proof of international competence in business subjects, while a EuroTourism Diploma value adds studies through work placement opportunities abroad.

Technological University of Tajikistan

About University

Technological University of Tajikistan is a higher educational institution  which educates and trains specialists in the field of technology, communications, economics and design in accordance with license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan (№ AY №0001546 from 07.07.2014 city).

History

The institution was established by the Council of Ministers of the Tajik SSR № 207 from September 20, 1990 as the Tajik Higher Technological College, and then on the basis of Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers № 530 and from July 29, 1991 The higher Technological college was transformed into the Tajik Technological Institute of light and food industries. Since February 19, 1993 in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Tajikistan № 80 on the basis of this educational institution it started functioning as the Technological University of Tajikistan.

Presently There’s a head office functioning in the structure of the university in city Dushanbe, and Institute of Technology and Innovation Management in the city of Kulyab, with the branch in Isfara, innovative high school lyceum in the city of “Dushanbe” and Gymnasium in the city of “Kulyab.” Branch

Technological University of Tajikistan carries out fruitful cooperation with more than 60 foreign universities. On the basis of the signed agreements in cooperation with several universities of the Russian Federation, today, there are  more than 1,200 of our students who receive an education in techhnical and technological specialties in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Ussuriysk, Rybinsk, Nizhny Novgorod. There are two joint Tajik-Russian Faculties in the university (in the capital and in the Institute of Technology and Innovation Management in the city of Kulyab).

Foreign Trade University, or FTU, is a university established in 1960, located in Hanoi,Vietnam. FTU is among the most well-known universities in Vietnam, covering a wide range of business courses among which are finance,management, and marketing. The annual admissions test to the university is one of the most competitive in Vietnam. Students from FTU are recognised as being active and well-qualified.

History

The history of technical education in this country has been a century old. It all began in 1904 when a Technical School began its operation on Weld Road (now Jalan Raja Chulan) to teach Technical Assistants for the Federated Malay States Departments of Railways, Survey and Public Works. The school was officially known as Treacher Technical School, named after Sir William Treacher, the Resident General during that time. Students followed classed on part-time basis; they worked and trained specifically according to the technical needs of their employment.

Research

The Ministry of Education formed an Ad Hoc committee, comprising research from Malaysian universities, to formulate a concept paper on the establishment of research universities (RUs). The content of the paper deals with their vision, missions and goals, the criteria and standard for Rus, their governance, prevision of incentives, accreditation concerns, cost implications and a viable action plan. The vision of an RU expands existing philosophies and good practices to enhance overall educations system and contribute to nation building.

Sogang University

About University

At the initiative of the Catholic Hierarchy of Korea, Pope Pius XII gave assurance that a Catholic institution of higher learning would have been founded in Korea. Later he entrusted the task to the Society of Jesus (September 1948). Fr. Theodor Geppert, S.J. from Sophia University in Tokyo came to Korea and started searching for a suitable site to establish a Jesuit college in October 1954. Fr. Leo Burns, S.J., Superior of the Wisconsin Province came to Korea and, with the Catholic Hierarchy, began negotiations with the government for the foundation of the college in February 1955. In January 1957 the Society of Jesus purchased a property of 67,075 pyong (217,323 sq. meters, 53 acres) at Nogo San, Sinsu-dongMapo-guSeoul. Work began to prepare the site for the Administration Building. The Administration Building was completed in November 1959.

History

The university was established in 1998 under the Private University Act, 1992. It has five campuses. The main campus situated at 3/A, Road # 4, Dhanmondi, Dhaka 1205, Bangladesh. Other campuses are located at Dhanmondi.

The recent public perception is negative. This university has been established to make money not to provide education in terms of quality. This perception also applies to other private universities as well some old public universities in the country.

The Catholic University of Cameroon (CATUC), or in Latin (Universitas Catholica Cameruniae) is a private university located in Bamenda in the North West region of the Republic of Cameroon. It is the Provincial University of the Catholic Church in the Anglophone part of Cameroon and the only Catholic Institution of Higher Education founded by the Anglophone Catholic Bishops.

History

The Catholic University of Cameroon, Bamenda  was founded by the Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda as a national institution of learning. Given its origins and its historic role, this university has a responsibility to the Church in Cameroon. Institute of Economic Planning was founded in Samara in September 1931.
